Free Credit Report Government Of Canada site

This can be a handy tool for those thinking about buying a home that do not know their credit information and are willing to wait the ~2-3 weeks for the report to come in the mail as it will show you any issues that are on your file that may cause you problems. This is a free service provided by Equifax and TransUnion once per year.

Note your credit report and credit score are two related by different things. It is your credit report that Trans Union and Equifax provide for free.

How to get a free credit report

Order a copy of your credit report from both Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada. Each credit bureau may have different information about how you have used credit in the past. Ordering your own credit report has no effect on your credit score.

Equifax Canada refers to your credit report as “credit file disclosure”.

TransUnion Canada refers to your credit report as “consumer disclosure”.
